Have you ever met a dog who locks eyes causing you to fall instantly in love with them? Laylah, my Sheltie, has the ability to do this, as well as communicate with facial expressions. Her intelligence is exhibited throughout the first series, "Through the Eyes of Laylah." Based on true stories, with adventures and hidden moral and life lessons to share with your family.
The art illustration on the cover of the first series is done by my grandson, Ethan Owens, who shows creativity by capturing the expression of Laylah independently. His contribution is greatly appreciated.
The second series, "The Furry Sleuths of Golden Palms," has 2 books published and 1 more book written and awaiting publication.
T. D. Carlson is a recently retired Pharmacist who began to gather notes about her special dog Laylah 5 years ago. Once retired, she began to have time to write children's books. Watching interactions of Laylah with strangers, as well as other animals, inspired her to "speak" for Laylah. With the addition of hidden lessons on safety and morals, this four part series of books have been written.
Future books will include Laylah in different roles.
A young adult book is in the works as well.
Ms. Carlson lives in Florida, likes to garden and plays the cello. Also, she is the proud mother of 3 children and grandmother of 7 grandchildren.
The Golden Palms neighborhood dog watch system face a serious challenge. Jojo, a mischievous five year old boy, is reported missing in the Florida Everglades. The furry team must retrieve him before the wild animals find him. Fortunately, Laylah has a unique resource to aid in the search.
As a retired pharmacist, I enjoy walking year-round in Florida, along with other activities, including playing cello in a local college orchestra.
